Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ Battery Replacement
This repair service will replace the battery on your Surface Pro 7+. Any Surface Pro 7+ model is compatible with this repair regardless of internal configuration because the battery is the same for all variants. This repair will also fix issues related an aging battery. Microsoft has packed in a 50.4 watt hour, 7.57V lithium ion battery in the Surface Pro 7+ (SP7+). It is listed at 6657 mAh. You may be experiencing bad battery life compared to when you first bought it. Your device may only last an hour or two rather than getting you through most of the day. You are probably always tethered to the charger so your Surface Pro 7+ doesn't run out of juice. Your device may turn off as soon as it is unplugged from the power cable. A new battery should fix these problems. Often times, if your Surface Pro 7+ screen is bulging, especially near the bottom or left side of the device, it is due to the battery ballooning. If your battery is expanding and pushing up the screen, get it replaced as soon as possible because it could potentially be dangerous. Note: If your screen is cracked we will not be able to do this repair at this cost as the screen would have to be replaced as well. Please call or message us if this is the case for a special order.

Troubleshooting your Surface Pro 7+ battery

  • If you're having battery life issues, make sure it's not software related first:
    • Update your device while it has at least 40% or more battery life and is connected to a power source.
    • Click Start > Settings > Update and Security > click Windows Update
    • Make sure you install "System Firmware Update - 8/29/2016"
  • Check your background apps and make sure there aren't a bunch of things running
    • Go to Settings from the Start menu > Click Privacy > click on the Background apps tab
    • If you see a bunch of apps running, that may shorten your battery life
    • Turn off the apps that you don't want running in the background
  • If you've made sure it's not software that's killing your battery life, chances are that it's the hardware. Sometimes the only fix for an old battery is to replace it which you can do by purchasing this repair.

How to tell which Surface Pro model you have:

The Surface Pro 4, 5 (2017), 6 (2018) model and 7 (2019) look very similar. The easiest way to tell them apart is by looking at the interior of where the kickstand hinge connects to the device. On the Surface Pro 4 the hinge side color gray and the hinge on the device side is black. On the Surface Pro 2017/2018 the hinge side is gray and so is the hinge on the device side. On the inside under the hinge the model on the 4 will say 1724, 5 will be 1796, Surface Pro 6 is 1824 or 1796 and Surface Pro 7 is 1866.
