iPad 10th Gen Repairs (10.9-inch, 2022)
Cracked glass, a dying battery or a USB-C port that won't charge? We repair the iPad 10th Gen (10.9-inch, 2022) at our Mission Viejo shop, most repairs same day, with upfront prices listed below.
- Compatible models: A2696 (Wi-Fi) | A2757, A2777, A3162 (Wi-Fi + Cellular). The model number is in the fine print on the back of your iPad, under the word "iPad".
- Glass vs. LCD: The iPad 10th Gen has an unlaminated display, so the outer glass and the inner LCD are separate parts. If the glass is cracked or touch isn't working but the picture underneath looks normal, you only need the $129 Glass Replacement.
- Touch ID: Touch ID is in the top button, not the screen, so screen and battery repairs don't affect it.
- Service options: By appointment at our Mission Viejo shop, or nationwide mail-in repair from anywhere in the US.
Which screen repair do I need?
| Service | Price | Choose this if... |
|---|---|---|
| Screen / Glass Replacement | $129 | The top glass is cracked or spiderwebbed, or touch isn't responding, but the image underneath is clear with no black spots or colored lines. |
| Inner LCD Replacement | $189 | The outer glass isn't cracked, but the display shows black ink blots, vertical or horizontal lines, flickering, or is completely dark. |
| Glass & LCD Combo | $249 | The outer glass is shattered and the image underneath is damaged or bleeding too. Saves $69 vs. separate repairs. |
iPad 10th Gen Repair FAQs
Will Touch ID still work after a repair?
Yes, for screen, LCD, battery, camera and almost every other repair. On the iPad 10th Gen, Touch ID is built into the top button, not the screen, so those repairs don't affect it. The one exception is the top button itself: our $109 replacement button works for power and lock but not Touch ID, and our $179 genuine Apple Touch ID button keeps fingerprint unlock working.
Which Apple Pencil works with the new glass?
The replacement glass works with the same Apple Pencils as the original: Apple Pencil (USB-C) and Apple Pencil (1st generation), which needs Apple's USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter on this iPad. Apple Pencil (2nd generation) and Apple Pencil Pro don't work with the iPad 10th Gen.
How do I tell an iPad 10th Gen from an iPad 11th Gen (A16)?
They look the same from the outside, so check the model number on the back under the word "iPad" or in Settings > General > About. iPad 10th Gen (2022): A2696, A2757, A2777 or A3162. iPad 11th Gen (A16, 2025): A3354, A3355 or A3356.
Is it worth fixing an iPad 10th Gen in 2026?
For most people, yes. A new entry-level iPad starts at $349, while most iPad 10th Gen repairs cost $79 to $129. The A14 Bionic chip still handles everyday apps, streaming, video calls and schoolwork smoothly, and the iPad 10th Gen has the modern all-screen design with USB-C. A repair gives you a working iPad without paying for a new one.
How long does an iPad 10th Gen repair take?
Glass, LCD, camera, lens, microphone, Wi-Fi and button repairs take 2-3 hours, same day, at our Mission Viejo shop in South Orange County. Battery replacements take 1 business day. The genuine Apple Touch ID button takes 2-3 days to arrive before we fit it. Charging port repairs and data recovery take about 2 weeks. For mail-in repairs, add shipping time both ways.
