Every PS5 pulls air through its fan and heatsink to stay cool, and over the years dust, lint and pet hair pack into the fan blades and the fins of the heatsink. Air can't get through, so the fan spins faster and louder, the console gets hot, and eventually it can slow down or shut itself off. The PS5 uses one large cooling fan that pulls air through the whole console.

We open the console, remove the fan, clean the dust out of the fan and the heatsink fins, clean the vents and check that the fan spins smoothly. Then we put it back together and run a game to make sure it stays cool and quiet.

How often should a console be cleaned?
For most homes, every 1 to 2 years. If you have pets, smoke, or the console sits in a cabinet or on the carpet, once a year keeps it running cool. Leaving a few inches of open space around the vents helps a lot too.

We will send it back the same way sealed in a box to your address. Return Courier service fee will be added onto the repair cost. Not sure which model you have?
Look for the model number that starts with CFI- on the label on the back or bottom of your console. CFI-1 is the original PS5, CFI-2 is the PS5 Slim and CFI-7 is the PS5 Pro.

Not sure what repair you need?
Move the console somewhere with open space around the vents and see if it runs quieter. If it's still loud or hot, a deep cleaning is the place to start.
