A layer of thermal paste moves heat from the PS4's processor into its heatsink. Most PS4s are many years old now, and the original paste has usually dried out, which is a big part of why so many of them sound like a jet engine.

We take the console apart, remove the heatsink, clean off the old paste and apply fresh high-performance thermal paste. This repair also includes our full deep cleaning: we clean the fan, the heatsink fins and the vents while the console is open, and test it under load before you pick it up.

Why not just clean it?
Cleaning removes the dust that blocks the airflow, but it can't fix dried-out paste between the processor and the heatsink. If your console is more than a few years old, doing both at once usually makes the biggest difference.

Not sure which model you have?
Look for the model number that starts with CUH- on the label on the back or bottom of your console. CUH-1 is the original PS4, CUH-2 is the PS4 Slim and CUH-7 is the PS4 Pro.
