The cooling fan in your PS4 plugs into a tiny connector that is soldered to the motherboard. It's easy to tear that connector right off the board when you unplug the fan, usually during a DIY cleaning, and once it's gone the fan can't get power. The console then overheats and shuts off, or won't stay on at all.

We remove the motherboard, clean up the damaged area and solder on a new connector. If the pads under the old connector were torn too, we repair them with fine jumper wires. Then we test the fan and run the console under load before you pick it up.

Signs Your PS4 Needs This Repair

• The fan stopped spinning after the console was opened for cleaning.
• The fan's connector came off with the cable, or you can see a bare spot or torn pads on the motherboard.

• The fan works only when the cable is held at an angle.

Don't try to glue it.
Glue or tape can't carry power to the fan reliably, and running the console without its fan can damage the processor. Leave the console unplugged until it's fixed.
