Xbox One S/X HDMI Port Repair – Mission Viejo & Orange County
Your Xbox One S/X sends picture and sound to your TV through its HDMI out port. If the console fell while the cable was plugged in, or the cable was yanked or pushed in at an angle, the pins inside the port bend or the port cracks and pulls loose from the motherboard. Then you get no picture, a picture that flickers or cuts out, or a cable that won't stay in. The Xbox One S and One X also have an HDMI in port for a cable box, and we can replace that one too at the same price.

An HDMI port is soldered to the motherboard, so it can't simply be unplugged and swapped. We take the console apart, remove the motherboard, desolder the damaged port and solder in a new one. Then we check every joint under magnification and test picture and sound on a 4K TV before you pick it up.

Signs Your Xbox One S/X Needs This Repair

  • No picture or a "No Signal" message on every TV and HDMI cable you try.
  • The picture flickers, goes black or shows sparkles, especially when the cable moves.
  • The HDMI cable feels loose, wobbles or won't stay in.
  • You can see bent, broken or missing pins inside the port, or the port looks pushed in.
  • Sound works but there's no picture, or the console turns on but the TV never wakes up.

Will a new port fix it?
Almost always. Now and then, a short in a damaged port also damages the HDMI chip next to it. We check for that during the free diagnosis, and if the chip needs to be replaced too, we'll call you with the price before doing any extra work.

Not sure which model you have?
Look for Model 1681 (One S) or Model 1787 (One X) on the label on the back or bottom of your console.

Not sure what repair you need?
Try a different HDMI cable and a different input on your TV, or a different TV. If you get a picture with another cable, the old cable was the problem. If nothing works and the console's light turns on normally, the HDMI port is the most likely cause. If the console overheats or shuts off instead, start with a Xbox One S/X Deep Cleaning.

Still under Microsoft's warranty?
If your console is still under the manufacturer's warranty and wasn't dropped or damaged, check with Microsoft first. Opening the console here may affect that warranty.
