iPad 2018 Headphone Jack Repair Description
This repair will fix the audio jack on the new iPad 6th Generation. The iPad 2018 headphone jack is located on the top left of the device. This 3.5mm audio jack is where headphones such as the Apple EarPods can connect to listen to music, make calls, video chat or record sound. If your audio jack is not working properly, sounds distorted or is only playing out of one earphone, replacing the headphone jack will usually resolve the preceding problems. This includes if your headphone jack breaks and gets stuck in the audio port since we'll replace the port entirely.

Troubleshooting your iPad headphone jack:
If one pair of headphones aren't working, try another pair such as the Apple headphones that came with your iPad 2018. If they both behave similarly, that points to the device being at fault rather than the headphones or EarPods.
Symptoms of your iPad 2018 may have that this prescription repair should fix:
- If you can only hear music or sound in your iPad 2018 through only the left ear or the right ear, this iPad repair is right for you.
- If you can barely hear out of your headphones, and you've tried another pair of headphones with similar results, this repair is the proper prescription.
- If there is something stuck in your headphone jack port, we can fix that with this because we replace the entire headphone jack flex. This means there won't be anything stuck in it anymore.
- If you have to wiggle your 3.5mm audio cable around to get sound out of both the left and right channel, or if the sound just cuts out, this tech repair is the proper prescription for your iPad repair.
Find Out Which iPad Model You Have
The iPad 2018 is also called the iPad (6th generation). It looks almost the same as several other iPads, so check the model number before you buy a repair. The iPad 2018 model numbers are A1893 (Wi-Fi) and A1954 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).
Option 1: Check in Settings
If your iPad still turns on and the screen works, open Settings > General > About. Next to Model Name you'll see "iPad (6th generation)". Next to Model Number you'll see a part number such as MR7F2LL/A. Tap that line once and it changes to the model number that starts with A, for example A1893.
Option 2: Look on the back of your iPad
If your iPad won't turn on or the screen is too damaged to use, turn it over. Under the word "iPad" on the back there are a few lines of small print. Look for the word "Model" followed by an A and four numbers, for example Model A1954.
Text too small to read?
Open the camera on your smartphone, point it at the small print on the back of your iPad and zoom in. You can also take a photo and zoom in on the picture. Good lighting helps, so try it near a window or a lamp.
