iPad 9th Gen Repairs (10.2-inch, 2021)
Cracked glass, a dying battery or a charging port that won't cooperate? We repair the iPad 9th Gen (10.2-inch, 2021) at our Mission Viejo shop, most repairs same day, with upfront prices listed below.
- Compatible models: A2602 (Wi-Fi) | A2603, A2604, A2605 (Wi-Fi + Cellular). The model number is in the fine print on the back of your iPad, under the word "iPad".
- Glass vs. LCD: The iPad 9th Gen has an unlaminated display, so the outer glass and the inner LCD are separate parts. If the glass is cracked or touch isn't working but the picture underneath looks normal, you only need the $119 Glass Replacement.
- Service options: By appointment at our Mission Viejo shop, or nationwide mail-in repair from anywhere in the US.
Which screen repair do I need?
| Service | Price | Choose this if... |
|---|---|---|
| Screen / Glass Replacement | $119 | The top glass is cracked or spiderwebbed, or touch isn't responding, but the image underneath is clear with no black spots or colored lines. |
| Inner LCD Replacement | $149.99 | The outer glass isn't cracked, but the display shows black ink blots, vertical or horizontal lines, flickering, or is completely dark. |
| Glass & LCD Combo | $199 | The outer glass is shattered and the image underneath is damaged or bleeding too. Saves $70 vs. separate repairs. |
iPad 9th Gen Repair FAQs
Will Touch ID still work after a screen or home button repair?
After a screen or glass replacement, yes. We move your original home button over to the new glass, so Touch ID keeps working.
Home button repairs are different. Touch ID is paired to your iPad's logic board at the factory and only Apple can pair a new sensor. Whenever we can, we repair your original button and flex cable so Touch ID keeps working. If the button itself has to be replaced, it will click and work again, but fingerprint unlock will not. We'll tell you which applies before we start.
Will my Apple Pencil (1st generation) work with the new glass?
Yes. The replacement glass we install works with the 1st generation Apple Pencil, the same as the original, for drawing, note-taking and handwriting.
Is it worth fixing an iPad 9th Gen in 2026?
For most people, yes. A new entry-level iPad starts at $349, while most iPad 9th Gen repairs cost $89.99 to $119, about a third of that or less. The A13 Bionic chip still handles everyday apps, streaming, video calls and schoolwork smoothly. A repair gives you a working iPad without paying for a new one.
How long does an iPad 9th Gen repair take?
Glass, LCD, home button, camera, microphone, headphone jack, Wi-Fi and button repairs take 2-3 hours, same day, at our Mission Viejo shop in South Orange County. Battery replacements take 1 business day. Charging port repairs take about 2 weeks because they need microsoldering. For mail-in repairs, add shipping time both ways.
